The Sierra Club White River Group welcomes you to the home page for the Kids' Guide to the Ozarks Outdoors. To help you and your family enjoy and explore the great Ozarks outdoors, we've published a 116 page guide to 40 parks and natural areas in Southwest Missouri plus a 20-page section on activities you can do in your own backyard.
If you don't have your own copy of the Guide, check with the Springfield Greene County Library or the Christian County Library in Ozark. If someone in your family is a member of the Sierra Club, contact Deb Dalton at 417-861-0064 for a copy.
In addition to Guide updates, we'll tell you about our outings and give you links to other outings that will help you and family get started, help you with the questions about the parks in the Guide and give you ideas about new activities to explore the nature in your own backyard.
Springfield Conservation Nature Center
While jogging on the Center trails is allowed in certain areas at certain times, the staff of the Center do not encourage jogging on these trails due to the increased likelihood of injury to both joggers and others on the trails. Trails at the Center are designed for walking, observing and enjoying the natural surroundings.
