Come to the Missouri Capital steps in Jefferson City at 10:30am
on Wednesday, March 2nd to protect Missouri's public
accountability standards for industrial livestock operations.
Senate
Bill 187 and House
Bill 376 are legislative proposals that severely limit Missouri

standards were passed in the mid-1990s as citizens worked to create
a transparent public process that could minimize the negative
impacts of this kind of irresponsible livestock development. more...

Bill 376 (HB
376) Changes the law relating to concentrated animal feeding

Missouri families. Rural residents that live near these facilities
have had their air and water polluted with foul, health threatening
odors and their water polluted by leaking waste lagoons.

records to the public. Industries that get permits to pollute
our air and water by disposing of their hazardous waste would
be allowed to self-monitor rather than being monitored by the
appropriate agencies. This legislation would provide them
immunity from fines or penalties as long as they self-report.

with information and the ability to quickly respond to action
needed. Alerts will be limited. The list-serve is a one-way communication
— you will only receive notices sent out from the Ozark
Chapter office on key state issues that are at a critical voting
juncture. The alert will provide a short summary of the problem,
the Bill information, what action is needed and who and how to
contact key legislators.
